Friday before school began, Gus' co-workers got together for a little Pirate Party @ Parkview Field to watch the TinCaps play baseball!

Do You Ever Worry?

What's running through your mind on a daily basis?  What consumes your thoughts?

Maybe you can relate...

And, where does all of that worrying get you?

(I saw that one on facebook & just had to share, lol. :-D )

Well, friends, this week I'm starting to reflect on our first lesson from the book,
Damsels in Distress
and so far it's been very practical
and
interwoven with plenty of Scripture.

My goal is to choose a verse (or two) each week to memorize to remind myself of
God's promises
and how I can apply what I'm learning to everyday life.

When I feel the thoughts of worry come in to my mind,
I don't want to dwell on those thoughts...
rather, I want to turn my concerns over to God
and trust that he will show me the way.

Here are 4 practical ways that God provides:

1)  Rest in the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ!  (This winter we finished a study
of the book Stop Asking Jesus Into Your Heart... highly recommend it.
Don't let the title fool you.)

2)  Read Scripture...  There's a reason it's called our Daily Bread.  Matthew 6:11-13.

3)  Learn about the Character of God:  The Attributes of God  is highly recommended.

4) Be willing to listen to the wise words, sometimes called wounds, of a friend.  Prov. 27:6.

Being a Christian does not mean that life will be easy by any means...
On the contrary, I believe that the closer you strive to be towards Christ,
the harder Satan works to pull you away.  He knows your weaknesses.
AND... sometimes Satan uses your greatest strengths to his advantage.
So, stay alert! (More to come on that later.)

Do Not Worry.
GOD CARES FOR YOU!

Trusting in His promises,

Amy
